CHIAROSCURO', IS A DISCOVERY PLATFORM THAT EXPLORES THE CONCEPTS OF YING & YANG, WHICH MEANS THE LIGHT AND SHADOW THAT IS CONSTRUCTIVELY MADE WITHIN THE STRUCTURE. A SENSORIAL EXPERIENCE OF SPACE WITHIN THE SPACE WITHIN THE STRUCTURE ALLOWS USERS TO MAKE SPONTANEOUS DISCOVERIES AROUND THE DRAMATIC LANDSCAPE THAT OVERSEES THE ENTIRE CANOPY OF THE FOREST.

THE CONCEPT OF YIN & YANG ARE USED TO REPRESENT THE BALANCE OF THE NATURAL AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT WITH THE REPRESENTATION OF LIGHTS & SPACE.

FLOOR PLANS

THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE STRUCTURE IS THE ENTRANCE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE SLOPING HILLS ALLOWING USERS TO ENTER INTO THE STRUCTURE.

THE SECOND FLOOR IS A DISCOVERY PLATFORM THAT ALLOWS USERS TO EXPERIENCE SPACE WITHIN THE SPACE AND THE EXPERIENCE OF LIGHT AND SHADOW THAT IS INSPIRED BY TADAO ANDO.

Here showcasing both west and east elevation. the west elevation allows sunlight to enter the structure because it represents yang and the east elevation represents yin where it is fully enclosed providing a non dominant space for the users.
